British Comedy

Back in the 80's when I was a little girl, I used to watch this show on PBS (I think) called The Benny Hill Show. http://www.vgernet.net/tpelkey/bennyhill/cheers.htm And back then I thought it was the funniest show with a little bit of a perverted twist since the old guy chased around beautiful girls. My bf (who 's also a fan) bought the dvd collection a while back and decided to watch it one day. We were looking forward to watching it since the show cancelled long ago and I remember myself cracking up and laughing as a kid.
Well, we only watched about 5 episodes and they were not that funny. I don't know what happened, maybe my sense of humor changed and matured. I was kinda disappointed and couldn't connect with the show's skits. I have to say the skits were quite simple. I think I got used to today's smart-ass jokes and forgot about how simple comedy was back then.

That makes me think about another show called "Mr. Bean". The first time I watched it, I was rolling on the floor laughing. Now, I just smirk.

For the Benny Hill fans, check out the website. It features President Bush in Benny Hill's style.

I only saw The Benny Hill Show for the first time a few years ago - around when I was 20. Didn't really think of it as something one would be allowed to watch as a little kid :)
But then maybe I'm talking about something else. I'm past my quarter-life crisis, so I guess I'm getting old :)

Nice place you've got here. And thanks for commenting on my blog!
